    Week 13, Day 2.

Ralph Dibny and Cassie Sandsmark are at a Cult of Connor ritual. Under a sheet marked with the resurrectionist upside-down 'S' is a straw doll dressed like Sue Dibny. Hal Jordan, Green Arrow, Metamorpho and Zauriel are also at the meeting, connected telepathically by Hal's ring. The others think that Dibny has brought them there to stop the ritual, but Ralph reveals that it's to tell him if the cult can bring his wife back to life.

The ritual progresses and the cult begins to pass around a large piece of blood kryptonite, which will draw a small fraction of life essence from each member. Green Arrow, Metamorpho, Hal and Zauriel try to convince Dibny that this is an elaborate ruse. Just as the blood kryptonite reaches Dibny, he has a choice to make.

    Southwest Asia.

Black Adam and Isis free children from slavery in search for Isis' brother Amon. Unfortunately, her brother is not among them, but Isis takes all of the orphans with her to Kahndaq and pledges to keep searching.

Back at the Cult of Connor, Dibny decides that it's all la hoax, and has Metamorpho destroy the blood kryptonite. Green Arrow and Green Lantern tear up the place as Dibny accosts the cult leader. Wonder Girl (Cassie) attacks Dibny, but is subdued by Hal. A fire breaks out and everyone flees. Suddenly, crawling out of the flames, Dibny sees the straw figure of his wife saying "Ralph...?"

Dibny tries to stop the destruction, but it's too late. Everyone leaves and Dibny is left in the fire, clutching the effigy of his wife. The building explodes.

Green Lantern scans the wreckage and finds no trace of Dibny, who is sitting under a bridge closeby, clutching the charred remains of the effigy and chanting "try again..."
